Xpert Beauty

Xpert Beauty needed an e-commerce platform that could scale to multiple countries and thousands of SKUs without re-architecture. We built it on Magento 2 with SAP, WMS, and POS integrated into one operational flow — now 70 brands and 15,000+ SKUs across three markets.

2025

Europe

Xpert Beauty had one shot to get the infrastructure right — before the growth that would make rebuilding impossible. They didn't need a second one.

CHALLENGE

Xpert Beauty was launching across multiple markets at once — no single-country pilot, no runway to iterate on a simpler version. The catalog had to support dozens of brands from day one, backend systems had to speak to each other without gaps in the operational flow, and the whole thing had to hold as both SKU count and geographic scope expanded in parallel. The design constraint was precise: build something sized for current operations that would extend cleanly under growth, rather than fracture at exactly the moment the business couldn't afford a rebuild.

SITUATION

Xpert Beauty was entering CEE beauty retail — Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary — a region with strong incumbents and three different languages, currencies, and logistics realities to satisfy simultaneously. Beauty is a high-SKU, fast-turnover category: thousands of products and variants, sold online and through physical points of sale, where inventory accuracy is the difference between a completed sale and a refund. Building for scale you don't yet have is the hardest system to design well. The operational constraint was clear: catalogue, inventory, fulfilment, and point-of-sale had to behave as one system across countries, or growth would multiply errors instead of revenue. The CEE beauty market offered significant headroom — European cosmetics retail exceeded €104B in 2024 and online penetration continues to climb — making the infrastructure decision a direct investment in how much of that opportunity the business could capture.

SCALING ARCHITECTURE

The platform was built on Magento 2, chosen for its multi-store, multi-language capability, with enhanced cart rules and an optimised checkout and payment/shipping flow. The decisive structural choice was integrating the core systems — SAP, WMS, and POS — directly into the commerce layer, so orders, inventory, and fulfilment shared one source of truth rather than reconciling across silos. Underneath, a multi-cloud infrastructure managed by Bunnyshell gave the platform elastic, reliable scaling — so capacity followed demand market by market instead of being provisioned upfront.

KEY INSIGHT

For a hypergrowth retailer, the platform decision is an operations decision in disguise. The storefront is the easy part; whether catalogue, inventory, fulfilment, and POS share one source of truth determines whether scale compounds revenue or compounds errors.

SELECTED CAPABILITIES

E-commerce Platform (Magento 2)

Enhanced cart rules, optimised checkout, and frictionless payment and shipping options.

Core System Integration

SAP, WMS, and POS integrated to minimise errors and support order hypergrowth.

Multi-Country Setup

Multi-language, multi-store architecture for Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary.

Scalable Infrastructure

Multi-cloud architecture managed by Bunnyshell for reliable, elastic scaling.

Brand & Visual Identity

A visual identity designed to carry the brand's growth and innovation ambition.

OUTCOME

70 brands and 15,000+ SKUs live across three markets — on infrastructure that scales without rework.

Xpert Beauty launched on a platform where SAP, WMS, and POS integration reduced manual reconciliation and improved order fulfilment, so adding products, brands, and markets extended the system rather than strained it. The multi-store architecture carried launches in Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary off one codebase — leaving a foundation for continued regional expansion rather than the rebuild a launch-sized platform would have forced within a year.
